    From tree to pencil

The Faber-Castell forestry operation plants and maintains over a million young trees each year over a total area of some 10,000 hectares (100 km²). Within the Faber-Castell forests, located in Prata in south-east Brazil, trees are constantly being planted. After 20 to 23 years, they are used as an ecological raw material for coloured and writing pencils.

As a pioneer in environmentally friendly industrial production methods, Faber-Castell does not just guarantee sustainable wood stocks. The pine trees and the Prata forests neutralise the carbon footprint of Faber-Castell's global production by absorbing 900,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) every year.

    An astonishing alliance

As artistic creation and the world of work become more digital, staying inspired, composing, and creating... remain major productivity challenges. When it comes to immortalizing an idea, saving a sketch, enhancing it using digital technology, and sharing your art with the world, while still using traditional tools, there are some new partnerships being formed to foster creativity.

    Repaper, a Faber-Castell limited edition.

How could an ordinary wooden pencil become part of the digital world as easy as ABC? In 2019, the challenge was issued. Six months later, Faber-Castell joined forces with iskn and they set themselves the task of making the interplay with digital easier for all the creative types who are still fans of paper and pencil. Born from the know-how of two pioneering companies, in graphite pencil manufacture and Augmented Interaction(TM) respectively, Repaper aims to offer a totally new experience, combining the simplicity of pencil and paper with the power of a graphic tablet.

Combining a wooden pencil with magnetism, for a totally new experience, that's the magic of Repaper.

    A friendship made to last

Since 2019, the collaboration has demonstrated Faber-Castell and iskn's shared aim to revolutionise the creative arts market. Driven by the hand-made trend, coupled with rising demand, the sector is booming. With an influx of beginners to the field, the market is still driving great interest - in how to give free rein to your imagination, learning how to draw, sketch, create a unique work of art and even how to express yourself.

With so many projects being created between the two brands, this is an ode to creativity.
