Alice Jago

Alice Jago is a self-taught freelance children’s illustrator who lives in Cornwall, England.
From an early age she had two competing loves - drawing and animals. When it came to choosing a career at 18 she chose animals, and studied Zoology at university. She worked for some years in wildlife conservation in Africa before becoming disheartened and returning to England.
Having children of her own renewed her love of children’s books, and once she picked up a pencil again she couldn’t stop! She’s recently been developing her style using a combination of dip pen and ink, watercolour, and digital. She now gets to combine her two favourite things, art and wildlife, by drawing cute animals every day.
