Jonathan Durand

Boxa, whose real name is Jonathan Durand, was born in 1984 in the mountainous regions of Jura (39). He spent his childhood passionate about comics and drawing, copying his favorite characters (The Smurfs, Asterix, etc.). When adolescence came, he abandoned drawing in favor of his friends and studies. It was with the discovery of artists like Levitzo and the artist from Haute-Savoie, Sibylline Meynet, present on the social network Instagram, that in 2017, little Boxa rediscovered drawing, which he would never leave again.

Through perseverance and practice, he succeeded in getting noticed and was offered exciting projects. This is how he managed to work with prestigious clients such as Pif magazine, Netflix, Adult Swim, Cultura, and many others.

Although his real profession is a landscape gardener, Boxa alternates between gardens and the drawing board until the day he succeeds in making it his main profession. In the meantime, you can regularly find him in Pif magazine or follow his creative experiments on @boxadessin.

My inspirations: I am very curious about the creative field in general, which leads me to draw inspiration from various sources. I love artists like Tim Burton and Jamie Hewlett. I adore Franco-Belgian comics, the field of illustration, the creation of polymer clay figurines, animation, and many more. I would like to be able to do it all at once! In the end, it's all these things that excite me that are reflected in my creations.
